Community Led Total is an innovative methodology for mobilising communities to drive their own development, originally through the elimination of open defecation (Community led total sanitation or CLT-S). Communities are facilitated to conduct their own appraisal and analysis of their requirements and take their own action to deliver them. Vita has adapted this methodology for fuel efficient stoves, in conjunction with CLT-S originator Dr Kamal Kar.
