The Osprey Foundation is one the early investors into the Vita Green Impact Fund (VGIF). Their support allowed us to pilot the clean water and improved cookstove programme. The success from the pilot led a strong foundation for the scale up VGIF programme with an addition of the community-led reforestation programme. The fund has since reached 1,000,000 people in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Together with Teagasc and the European Union, we launched an innovative, science‑driven programme that has transformed Eritrea’s national cattle herd. The Loyola Foundation is supporting an integrated programme that combines improved cookstoves with nutrition initiatives. Through this partnership, 37,071 people now have access to fuel‑efficient cookstoves and resilient potato crops. This dual approach reduces household fuel costs, improves health and strengthens food security — ensuring families can thrive with cleaner energy and reliable nutrition.

The Posner Foundation is supporting farmers in Eritrea to reduce potato post‑harvest losses. By safeguarding harvests, this initiative ensures that farming families have enough food throughout the year, even in a region challenged by recurring droughts. The Foundation’s support strengthens food security, builds resilience and empowers farmers to thrive despite climate pressures.

Through the Vita Green Impact Fund Programme, we generate high‑integrity carbon offsets that are sold on the voluntary carbon market. The residual profits from these sales allow us to extend our impact — supporting more communities in East Ethiopia and Eritrea with clean water, fuel‑efficient cookstoves and reforestation programmes.
